Deadline Update

Hi Honors kids! It's that time of the school year again! If you'd like to potentially move into the Honors Residence during the next school year, please talk to Dr. Baker as soon as possible! He needs to know which room you'd prefer, as well.

Also, if any of you wish to participate in next month's Director's Talk for Anton in Show Business on March 4, please take your $25 deposit to Dr. Baker's office to reserve your place.

The Fine Arts Tattler posted this blurb with information about the play, which includes a cast listing: http://fineartsfsu.wordpress.com/2010/02/12/anton-in-show-business-a-madcap-award-winning-contemporary-play/

February Meeting

Hello, honors students! Just wanted to remind you that the February Honors meeting will be this Tuesday, February 9, at 12:30 pm. It will take place in the Tower Room of Wallman Hall, and pizza will be provided by Peggy Frum from the campus Bookstore. FSU President Dr. Thomas Krepel will be speaking. Please come join us! At this meeting we'll also be passing around a paper from the advisory council meeting, on which we need to note our current members. We'd really appreciate it if you guys all come!

Hope you're enjoying this wintery weather!

Winter Feast

Please let one of the officers know what you intend to bring, or RSVP on facebook if you have one (event found here --> http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=198772739879&ref=ts ).

Also optional that night is a game of "greed". In order to participate, please bring a wrapped gift worth roughly $5..For those who haven't heard of greed: in order to play the game, everyone who brings a gift gets a number... In numerical order, the people choose gifts; either electing to unwrap one or take one of the previously opened ones from someone else (the person whose gift was taken would then choose another present). When everyone is done choosing a gift, that's the present the person is left with. =) It can be an entertaining game to watch, trust me.

We hope you are all having a good end of semester, that finals go well, and to see you there!

Last Meeting of the Semester

The last honors meeting of the semester will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, November 10th, in the Tower Room of Wallman Hall. Pizza will be provided, as per usual. We hope to see you there!

Community Service Day

Hi honors kids! I have a message for you from our lovely Community Chairperson, Holly McGuire! If you need more info about this honors event, Holly's email address is hmcguire@students.fairmontstate.edu!

Thanks!

Hey Everyone!

So as some of you may have already heard, National Honors Community Service Day is coming up on October 16, 2009. That day just so happens to be the day that The Soup Opera, a local soup kitchen, hands out free groceries. What we have planned is from 9am to 1pm we would like to have volunteers go to help hand out groceries, help to sort the donated clothes, or any other activities that could be done to help out. There are sign-up sheets in Dr. Baker's Office with all of the times available. Please let us know if you need a ride and we may be able to arrange transportation for you.

Thanks So Much Everyone!
Hope to see you there!

Holly E. McGuire
Honors Community Service Chair

D.C. Trip 9/26

A few words from our president:

Honors Fleet!

I hope everyone's classes are rolling out smoothly. I wanted to remind everyone about the trip to Washington DC on September 26. That is a Saturday, and we will be leaving at 6:00 am. The bus is filling up rapidly, so please get your money to Dr. Baker as soon as possible to insure you have a seat on the bus. Remember the trip requires a $25.00 deposit for all honors students. If you would like to bring a non-honors friend, that's fine, but it will require a $25.00 fee. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
